A very dirty Ford Focus ST

I like a good Ford, particularly the Focus ST and RS. I’ve owned a couple of Fords over the years. A C-Max, an S-Max and I used a Ford Transit Custom van for about 8 years.

But this Ford Focus ST was in for a desperate clean. Upon inspection, the vehicle is suffering from ALOT of swirls, light scratches and a couple of more serious paintwork issues, but nothing too major. Definitely something that we can work on.

It was decided to give the car a STAGE 2 exterior clean only - which can help us better assess the condition of the paintwork and wheels.

The STAGE 2 detail includes a deeper wash to the wheels and arches which really helped bring up the condition of the wheels completely, not just the faces of the wheels. The arches were thoroughly cleaned and treated and the callipers were cleaned also to bring out the red.

This was took OVER two hours, partially thanks to the local neighbours coming over for a chat a couple of times which slowed us down. But I cant complain as one of them wants their car doing. result.


Nonetheless - the outcome was quite good and between myself and the owner we have come up with a plan for future washes including a proper polish and paint protection to help remove a lot of the light scuffs caused by previous washes and general wear and tear. I’m really looking forward to getting this car back to its best.

Services carried out: STAGE 2+

  • Wheels, tyres and Arches scrubbed, washed and de-ironized/degreased to remove brake dust and other contaminants.

  • Citrus/Traffic Film pre-wash removal to lower third of vehicle body.

  • Full body shampoo contact wash (TWICE)

  • Fuel Cap and door shuts washed and dried

  • Tyres scrubbed and dressed to a glossy finish

  • Body, wheels & Windows Towel dried

  • Snow Foam decontamination treatment to remove dirt and grime

  • Brake dust & other contaminant removal from bodywork

  • Plastic Trim/bumper dressing for a glossy durable finish

  • Windows/windscreen treated with water repellent

  • Door & Boot shuts scrubbed and treated/dressed

  • Exhaust tip de-carbonised & polished
